Shayetsa White Dove (b. 1956) began making pottery in 1984.  She learned to make pottery from her grandmother, Connie O. Cerhno.  Her focus has long been on historic Acoma designs.  Each piece is coil-built using native clay, painted with bee-weed and natural clay slips.  This piece is a classic water jar shape.  There are four Acoma birds painted as the design.  They are each surrounded by flowers. There is a rainbow slipped in red clay that encircles the jar.  There are five different colors used on this jar..  It is signed on the bottom, “Shayetsa”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
