Wildflower, Theresa – Mini Canteen with Eagle Dancer and Stopper
Theresa Wildflower was known for her miniature pottery. Each piece was made as a miniature version of a larger vessel and she would incorporate the work of various tribes and Pueblos. This small canteen sits at an angle. The front is deeply carved with a multi-dimensional Eagle Dancer. The depth of the relief and the detail of the carving is amazing! There is a tiny painted feather on the back of the canteen. The top has a stopper. The back of the canteen has an additional bird design. The piece is signed on the bottom with her hallmark and “Kwahu”, which is Hopi for Eagle Katsina It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
