$ 250.00

Lucy Year Flower was a daughter-in-law of Camilio Tafoya and a sister-in-law of Joseph Lonewolf and Grace Medicine Flower. She began making pottery in the 1970’s and was known for her flowing carved designs.  This seedpot is fully carved on the top with a feathered water serpent (avanyu) and a sun design.  Typical of her work, look at the matte area surrounding the polished avanyu and note the deeply incised lines.  She would do this to help accentuate her carving.  The bottom is simply polished and note the concave bottom of the seedpot!  The piece   The is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is signed, “Lucy Year Flower” on the bottom.
