Lucy Year Flower was a daughter-in-law of Camilio Tafoya and a sister-in-law of Joseph Lonewolf and Grace Medicine Flower. She began making pottery in the 1970s and was known for her flowing carved designs.  This is an early piece of her pottery from 1974.  It is plain but highly polished. The jar has a sharp shoulder and an elongated neck.  It is stone polished to a high shine.  The jar is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed, “Lucy Year Flower” on the bottom.
