This is a spectacular small carved bowl by Nancy Youngblood is from 1984.  For the size you can see in the photos how deeply it is carved into the clay!  The bowl has two very intricately carved avanyu encircling the piece.  The bodies of each avanyu have cloud, rain, and lightning designs.  Around the opening there are clouds.  The base area is fully polished.  The entire piece is polished to a stunning shine!  The bowl was traditionally fired a deep black.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Nancy Youngblood-Cutler”.  It is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.

Nancy said of her avanyu:
