This miniature is part of a series created by Nancy Youngblood of her “micro-minis”.  They are miniature versions of her larger vessels.  Each piece is coil built, carved, stone polished and traditionally fired.  This is small melon bowl with eight carved ribs.  Each rib is vertical from top to bottom and they each come to a sharp edge.  The piece is very highly polished and fired a glassy black coloration.   It is remarkable how she can do this on such a small surface!  The piece signed on the bottom in the clay “N. Y.”.  It is from 2022.
