This is an exceptional miniature by Nancy Youngblood.  This bowl is from 1977.  It is one of her classic deep carved miniature melon bowls. The bowl has sixteen ribs and each is very deeply carved into the clay in a vertical manner. They are narrow at the base and neck and wider at the shoulder.  Each rib is individually polished.  Nancy has a particular stone which allows her to polish so deeply and the piece has a glassy surface.  It is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks,restoration or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Nancy Yellow Aspen Youngblood”.  While it may be a small piece, it is certainly the classic style of this renowned artist.
