Thea Rose Cata (Ohkay Owingeh/San Ildefonso) creates innovative Ohkay Owingeh pottery using native clay, native clay slips, and traditional firing. Thea is a granddaughter of noted potter Elizabeth Tafoya Lovato (San Ildefonso) and Mary R. Cata (Ohkay Owingeh). Her designs, imagery, and techniques are a distinctive combination of the two Pueblos.
