This seedpot by Grace Medicine Flower is from 1986. It is fully polished and fully etched with designs. The central design on top is a deer. On the side is a very detailed sun face with a feather design. Near the base are four Mimbes animals, two deer and two deer. They are very lightly etched near the bottom of the piece. The seepot is fully designed. Note the additional use of blue, green, and white clay slips. These were slips given to Grace by her brother Joseph Lonewolf. She only used them for a short time and then when she ran out she no longer had these colors on her pottery. However, they created a dynamic appearance in her work for a few years. Interestingly, Grace would always etch her pottery before it was fired. It is a classic seedpot in both form and design. This is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Grace Medicine Flower”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks restoration or repair.
