This bowl by Carmel Lewis is certainly inspired by the work of her mother, Lucy Lewis. The open bowl is fully polished on the inside and outside. It is painted with bee-weed (black) and has a series of stars across the outside of the bowl. The bowl is signed on the bottom, “Carmel Lewis”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.

Carmel Lewis is the youngest daughter of renowned potter Lucy Lewis. Along with her sisters Emma and Dolores, she continues the family tradition of making classic Acoma pottery. Carmel's pottery brings to mind the early work of her mother, but with a more modern appearance and her own intricate designs.
