Doug Tafoya (Cain) (b. 1942) is a son of noted potter Mary Cain and grandson of Christina Naranjo.  He is a brother of Tina Diaz, Linda Cain, Joy Cain, and Billy Cain.  This large water jar is coil-built and fully polished.  It was fired a glassy red coloration.  The jar is signed, “Doug Tafoya”.   It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  While Doug no longer makes pottery, his work is a striking reflection of the Cain family style.
