Lawrence Namoki has been known for a variety of styles in his pottery.  This large jar is coil-built, stone-polished, incised and traditionally fired.  It is entitled, “Ancient Ones”.  There are 16 figures incised around the top of the jar.  ARoudn the shoulder are additional figures and petroglyph designs. The figures are also inspired by the depiction of humans in petroglyphs.  The incised areas are highlighted with black clay.  The piece is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Lawrence Namoki”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
