This is a striking carved melon bowl by Linda Tafoya. It is round in shape and there 44 straight ribs carved into the clay. Each rib is stone polished At the mouth and the base there areas where they are carved to create a kiva step design The bowl was traditionally fired a glassy black. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair. It is signed on the bottom, “Linda Tafoya-Oyenque”.
