Tafoya, Ray – Multi-Color Seedpot with Mimbres Big Horn Sheep (1986)

This miniature seedpot by Ray Tafoya.  It is fully polished and conical in shape.  It has a Mimbres-style Big Horn Sheep etched into the clay.  It is surrounded by mountains, prayer feather, and geometric designs.   It is highlighted with additional yellow and blue clay slips.  The seedpot is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is signed on the bottom with his hallmark that means “White Mountain” in Tewa.
