Jody Folwell is known for her creative pottery shapes and designs. This jar is one of her classic jar shapes. The jar has an asymmetric rim and it is fully polished. The traditional firing created the colorations on the surface with the dark red and black rim. The jar is fully designed with five spawning Northwest coast salmon. Each one is different, and they are very intricately designed. The designs on the fish range from classic Northwest Coast imagery to Pueblo designs. The jar is amazingly detailed and has incredible fluidity in the imagery. The coloration from the firing makes it even more exceptional. It is signed on the side near the base, “Jody”.
