Folwell, Jody – 11″ Wide “Lizards in the Aspens” Painted Jar
$ 5,500.00
Jody Folwell is known for her creative pottery shapes and designs. This jar is made from native clay, coil-built, and painted. It is a creative piece that is painted with aspen leaves and lizards. Jody said she takes aspen leaves in the fall and uses them as inspiration for the vessel. They are then placed inside the jar. The colorations are striking on this piece, especially how the lizards and leaves overlap. Early in her career, Jody would have applique lizards in a similar style on her pottery, and now, as time has passed, they are painted. The flow of the designs along with the coloration and creativity, make this a very special jar. It is signed on the bottom, “Jody”.
