This is a classic seedpot by Ray Tafoya is fully polished and has an elongated shape. It is fully polished and then fired black. It is etched with a hummingbird and a flower. The center of the flower has the hole for the seedpot. The piece has additional geometric designs. Additional clay slips were used to create the colors. This is one of his more colorful pieces! All the different colors are derived from natural clay slips. The seedpot is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair. It is signed on the bottom with his hallmark, which means “White Mountain” in Tewa.
