Naranjo, Madeline – “Come What May” Clay Tile
$ 475.00
Madeline Naranjo creates beautifully carved and polished pottery. Each piece is pinch-built, carved, stone-polished, and traditionally fired. This is part of a series of tiles that are made from native clay, carved, polished, and traditionally fired. Tiles are difficult to make, as they tend to crack in drying and firing. However, for Madeline, they are the perfect form to tell a story! This tile is entitled, “Come What May”. It has a rectangular shape and there is girl looking outwards. Next to her is a “thought bubble” that is carved throug the clay. She is dreaming of the future. It is a combination of matte and polished areas. Her matte areas are sanded and perfectly smooth ,so there are no indentations or areas where the matte might make a shadow. Her designs are always innovative and beautifully executed. The tile is signed, “Madeline Naranjo”.
