Snowflake Flower (Stephanie Rhodes) was known for her traditional style Cochiti figures. She began making pottery in 1977. This piece is entitled, “Momma Owl and Little Ones”. It is one of her classic owl storytellers with three baby owls.. It is very detailed in the painted design! Note the feather on the head of the owl. She put this on every piece she made while her daughter Patsy was in a coma until 1999. The figure is signed on the bottom, “Snowflake Flower”. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.

Snowflake Flower is a granddaughter of Estephinita Herrera and a daughter of Berina Cordero. She is a sister of Ada Suina, Joe Cordero, and Mary Cordero. She learned to make pottery from her mother. She began making pottery in 1977. She is known for her traditional figure and especially her coyote figures. She is also known for the clay prayer feathers which she puts on all her figures which she began while her daughter was in a 16 year coma from which she recovered in 1999.
