Dianna Tahbo was known for her tightly painted pottery and especially her beautiful miniatures. This piece is from 1996 and it is an exceptional smaller work in clay. Dianne learned to make pottery from her brother, Mark Tahbo. This is a round jar. It is fully polished and painted with two different red clays, which is definitely unusual! There are four stylized hummingbirds as the design. It is beautifully painted and traditionally fired. There are blushes on the surface from the firing It is signed on the bottom, “Dianna Tahbo”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.

There is a mountain and cloud pattern encircling the bowl. It is beautifully painted and traditionally fired. There are blushes on the surface from the firing It is signed on the bottom, “Dianna Tahbo”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.

Dianna Tahbo was a sister of noted potter Mark Tahbo. She was also a great-great-granddaughter of Grace Chapella. She was known for her miniature pottery and fine line painting. Over the course of her career, she won numerous awards for her pottery including "Best of Miniatures" at Santa Fe Indian Market.
