Carolyn Concho is well known for her beautifully painted pottery using Mimbres animals, reptiles, and insects. This is a large piece of her pottery. The jar has a wide shoulder and a square neck. The neck has a butterfly in relief on each side. The body of the jar has large geometric flower designs. Note the use of the thin, delicate lines! All the different colors are from natural clay slips. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Carolyn Concho”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. There is a second place ribbon from the 2003 Eight Northern Pueblos Indian Market.

There is a butterfly on the rabbit with one wing in relief. The edges of the seedpot have fine-line designs. All the different colors are from natural clay slips. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Carolyn Concho”.
