7"w x 7"h

$ 750.00

Fawn Garcia Navasie (b. 1959) is also known as “Little Fawn”.  She is a daughter of Eunice “Fawn” Navasie and a sister of Dawn and Dolly Navasie.  This jar is coil-built and stone polished. The jar has a high shoulder and an elongated neck with a turned-out rim. The jar is painted with three “night birds’.  They are surrounded by stars and their tails extend over the shoulder of the piece.  It is tightly painted with bee-weed (black) and red clay.  The jar was traditionally fired to create the blushes on the surface.  It is signed on the bottom, “Fawn” and a deer track, which is how she signed her pieces after her mother, Eunice “Fawn” Navasie (1920-1992) passed away.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
