Emma Lewis was a daughter of noted potter Lucy M. Lewis.  This jar is made from native clay and painted with bee-weed and various clay slips.  The jar has two parrots along with flowers.  The parrots are highlighted with red clay slip.  It is signed on the bottom, “Emma Lewis”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
