Wilfred Garcia was married to Sandra Shutiva and was a son-in-law of Stella Shutiva. She taught him to make pottery. He was a son of Tony and Lucy Garcia and the brother of Mary Garcia Seymour. He made pottery on his own, as well as with his wife, Sandra. He called his art, “A Vision of Dreams” that come to him from Mother Earth. He began as a painter and learned to make pottery from his mother-in-law. He won awards at Santa Fe Indian Market and the Heard Museum Indian Market.
