Wesley Vigil is one of the few potters from Tesuque Pueblo. Each piece is made from native clay and coil-built. Wesley focuses on the revival of Tesuque pottery in his shapes and designs. He is a self-taught potter who has been making pottery for 15 years. Wesley learned to make pottery in 2000 by watching a film on Maria Martinez, including processing the clay and forming the pots. But it wasn’t until 2007 that he began making larger pieces for which he has become well-known.
