“Reflections of Stories Told” featured collected signed historic works by Maria Martinez (1887-1980), San Ildefonso, Margaret Tafoya (1904-2001), Santa Clara, and Tony Da (1940-2008), San Ildefonso. They are each important and influential Pueblo artists of the past century. Maria Martinez’s works include striking gunmetal-fired vessels. Margaret Tafoya’s range in size and time periods of her work. This show also features one of the largest gallery collections of Tony Da’s work to date. As a group, this show is a significant collection of signed historic pieces that tell the story of artistic innovation and creativity that continue to influence the world of Native art today.
