Wanda Aragon (b. 1948) is a daughter of noted potter Frances Torivio and a sister of Lilly Salvador. She is also known by her name in Acoma, Dzinats’ituwits’a.  She is known for her traditional style of Acoma pottery.  Each piece is coil-built using native clay and painted with bee-weed and natural clay slips.  This is a small water jar.  It is fully painted with fineline rain and leaf patterns.  Wanda notes it is inspired by an Acoma jar from the 1890-1900.  It is signed on the bottom “W. Aragon”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
