Joe Baca is known for his creative sgraffito pottery. This small jar has a sharp shoulder and sloping side. The entire piece is fully polished. There is a cut-out in the shape of kiva steps. Next to the cut-out is a single inset piece of turquoise. The jar was traditionally fired a deep black coloration. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Vida and Joseph Baca”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
