Harrison Begay, Jr. has won numerous awards over the years for his deep carved pottery.  This canteen has a sun design on one side and clouds on the opposite. The clouds are matte while the rays of the sun are polished.  The remainder of the canteen is fully polished.  It is fired a striking brown coloration.  Note as well the style of carving, which has a beveled appearance to the angle of the cuts into the clay. This is a very distinctive style of carving for his pottery.  The canteen was made in 2014.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
