Blue Corn – Owl Clay Figure (1960s)

4"w x 4.5"h

$ 600.00

Blue Corn was one of the great innovative San Ildefonso potters of the late 1900s.  This is one of the few figurative pieces we have had of her work in the gallery. It is a clay owl that has been painted black-on-black.  The piece is painted with straight lines to create the imagery of feathers.  It was fired to a silvery black. It is signed in the clay, “Blue Corn”.   The owl figure is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
