$ 2,000.00

Aaron Cajero is known for his multi-color incised pottery.  This large jar is coil-built, carved, polished,  and etched with design.  The top of the jar has a cloud shape with eight half-circle medallions.  There are etched clouds in each of the polished sections.  The body of the jar has four swirling bands that are polished red and etched with hummingbirds.  Separating them are sections with melon ribs that are carved into the clay.  They are slipped with clay for their coloration. The base of the jar has carved mountains (in brown) below white carved clouds.  It is a complex and detailed piece that combines carving, polished, etching, and matte areas.  The jar is signed, “Aaron Cajero”.   It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  There are two ribbons that go with this piece. One is from 2012 Santa Fe Indian Market (Blue Ribbon), the next is Second Place at the Prescott Indian Art Market.
