Joseph “Tha-Mo-Thay” Calabaza is a son of noted potter Blue Corn. This bowl is coil built, stone polished, and painted with black, orange, and green clay slips. The bowl is polished a creme coloration and then painted. The designs are interlocking clouds and mesa designs, separated by rain patterns. The piece has a very classic feel, much like the work of Blue Corn. It is in very good condition and no chips, cracks, restoration or repair. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Than-Mo-Thay”.
