Cellicion, Deldrick and Lorenda – Fluted Rim Jar with Two Lizards in Relief (1998)

Deldrick and Lorenda Cellicion are known for their polychrome Zuni pottery.  Each piece is coil-built.  This jar has a high shoulder and an elongatged neck with a fluted rim.  There are two lizards in relief on the shoulder of the jar.  They are black and highlighted with white and red clay creating a texture on the dots.  Below the shoulder, there is a speckled appearance from the red clay, as if the lizards were in the sand.  The jar is signed, “Deldrick and Lorenda Cellicion”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
