$ 3,800.00

Joseph Cerno Jr. is a son of noted potters Barbara and Joseph Cerno.  This jar is coil-built, and it is a classic water jar or “olla” shape with a high shoulder and a short, sloping neck.  The design is painted with bee-weed (black) and clay slips.  The jar has a cloud pattern around the neck.  There are heartline antelope above the shoulder and more near the base.  Between them is a band of plant designs with fine-lines painted surrounding them.  It s a complex and creative design.  The jar is signed, “Joseph Cerno, Jr.”.  It is from 2009 and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  The jar has a blue ribbon from the 2009 Santa Fe Indian Market.  The judges include Garth Clark and Nathan Youngblood.
