7.5"w x 3"h

$ 250.00

Clara Chavez (1922-1984) was a daughter of noted Acoma potter Mary Histia.  This jar is coil-built from native clay, and it is painted with bee-weed (black) and clay slips.  This open bowl has nine diamond-shaped stars painted in red.  The bowl is traditionally fired, so it has some color variation on the surface.  It is signed, “C. C.”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
