This is a very unusual shaped seedpot by Rose Chino Garcia. She was a daughter of noted potter Marie Z. Chino. This piece has a sharp edge and rounded top and bottom. The top has three Mimbres lizards in the center.  They are surrounded by geometric rain patterns.  The bottom has spiraling rain designs.  It is a very complex and visually striking piece! It is made from native clay and painted with bee-weed and clay slips for the red.  The seedpot was traditionally fired.  It is signed on the back, “Rose Chino Garcia”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
