Kathleen Collateta-Sandia (b. 1969) is a daughter of Hopi kachina carver Tom Collateta Sr. and Antonita Collateta of Jemez.  She learned to make pottery from her grandmother, Sara Collateta.  Kathleen uses Hopi clay and uses Hopi designs.  This wide bowl is coil-built, stone polished, and painted with bee-weed and clay slips.  The bowl is fully polished on the inside and outside.  The edge of the bowl has four butterflies along with feather and cloud designs.  The bowl was traditionally fired.  It is signed, “Kay”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
