Laura Dashee (1927-2011) was from Moenkopi in Hopi.  She made pottery in the late 1960s.  This piece is made from red Hopi clay.  It is a rectangular box with a kiva step and building design on the front painted with bee-weed and white clay.  There are two Mudheads on either end of the rectangular box. The piece was traditionally fired.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom, “L. D.  Water Fox”.
