Dunlap, Carla – Jar with Raincloud Designs (1982)

Carla Dunlap  (1964-1982) was a daughter of Carmelita Dunlap and a grandaughter of Juanita Montoya Vigil, the youngest sister of Maria Martinez.  She was a sister to Linda Dunlap, Cynthia Dunlap, Carlos Dunlap, and Martha Appleaf Fender.  This is the only piece of her potter we have had and it was made when she was 18.  The jar is fully polished and painted with rain and mountain designs.  It was traditionally fired a glassy black. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Carla Dunlap”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
