Dunlap, Linda – Black Jar with Swirling Cloud Designs (1982)

Linda Dunlap is a daughter of Carmelita Dunlap and a grandaughter of Juanita Montoya Vigil, the youngest sister of Maria Martinez.  She is sister to Jeannie Dunlap, Cynthia Dunlap, Carlos Dunlap, and Martha Appleaf Fender.   This jar is fully polished and painted with a flowing series or feather, rain, and cloud designs.  Typical of her work, she leaves a lot of open space to accentuate her tightly painted designs.  The jar was fired a deep, glassy black coloration.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Linda Dunlap”.  It is in excellent condition with o chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
