Polly Rose Folwell is a daughter of Jody Folwell and a sister of Susan Folwell. She is known for their use of classic designs on her traditional-inspired Santa Clara pottery. This jar is coil-built and thin-walled. It is fully polished and has a wide shape and asymmetric opening. The top has etched with a swirling star. It is tightly etched into the clay. The jar was fired a brown coloration, which is striking in person. The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Polly Rose”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.

Polly Rose Folwell is a daughter of noted potter Jody Folwell, a granddaughter of Rose Naranjo, and sister of Susan Folwell. She is also the mother of potter Kaa Folwell. Polly has created a variety of traditional and contemporary pieces of pottery over the years. She has won numerous awards for her work at the Santa Fe Indian Market, the Heard Museum Market, and Gallup Ceremonials.
