This seedpot by Gloria Garcia is fully polished and fired red. The top is fully designed with a realistic fawn standing in grass. The background is a mountain design. The fawn is highlighted with white clay. Gloria’s combination of polishing and etched designs is always striking. This piece is signed on the bottom with her Tewa name “GoldenRod”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.

The fawn is looking at three butterflies. They are realistic in style and highlighted with blue clay. Gloria’s combination of polishing and etched designs is always striking. This piece is signed on the bottom with her Tewa name “GoldenRod”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.

Gloria Garcia

Gloria Garcia (b.1942) is the daughter of Petra Gutierrez and a sister of potters Minnie Vigil, Lois Gutierrez, and the mother of Jason Garcia. Gloria is known for her intricately incised miniature pottery. Gloria has won numerous awards for her pottery over the years at Santa Fe Indian Market and has pottery in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC.
