Wilfred Garcia was married to Sandra Shutiva and was a son-in-law of Stella Shutiva. He learned to make pottery from Stella. He called his pottery “A Vision of Dreams” and was known for his sculptural works in clay. This and an early jar that has an ear of corn, a turtle, and a rainbow as the designs in relief. The remainder of the jar is white. There are textured designs on the corn and turtle. The piece is signed, “W. Garcia, Shutiva” and it is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.

On the top, there is a bear paw in relief with the claws carved through the clay. However, take a closer look at the “pad” of the paw. There is a heartline bear and a stylized Acoma bird as the design! They are incised into the clay. The piece is signed, “W. Garcia” and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
