This is a classic-shaped large bowl by Juanita Gonzales.  The piece has a round shoulder and a short neck.  The entire surface is fully polished. The jar is painted with a plant and rain design.  It was fired a deep black coloration.  Juanita’s early pottery is paitned while the later pottery is carved.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.    The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Juanita”.   It is great to find one of their pieces in a larger size!  There is the original price tag on the bottom.
