WOW! This is a spectacular tall jar by Denny Gutierrez. He was known for his faceted melon bowl. This jar is from 1992. It is his classic style of “faceted” melon jar. Each rib extends from the rim to the base and they are flattened to create a “faceted” appearance. The 32 ribs are evenly spaced and swirl from the rim to the base. The high shoulder and elongated sides accented this “faceted” style! The jar is highly polished and fired a glassy black. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Denny Gutierrez”.
