Denny Gutierrez was known for his faceted melon bowls. This piece has 16 swirling ribs that extend from the rim to the base. There is a ridge and then the flat part that creates the “facet”. The result is a striking visual appearance on the bowl as the light reflects against the various surface angles. The bowl is polished to a glossy shine. It is from 1992. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Denny Gutierrez”.
