Denny Gutierrez was known for his faceted melon bowls. However, he also created exceptional painted vessels. This jar has a round shoulder and a slight neck. It is fully polished and painted with very tightly painted feathers. There are 42 feathers encircling the jar in two sections. Note how they are painted at a slight angle. Separating them is a sections with rain designs and the opposite side has a double rainbow. The jar is polished to a glossy shine. It is from 1987. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Denny Gutierrez”.
