Gutierrez, Rose – Red Jar with Avanyu and Lid

Rose Gutierrez is a daughter of noted potter Helen Gutierrez and a sister of Geraldine Gutierrez and Kathy Gutierrez. This jar is fully polished red and there is an avanyu around the shoulder of the piece. Near the base are two painted spiders. There are additional spiders on the red polished lid. Spiders are a symbolic design she often uses on her pottery. The jar is signed on the bottom, “Rose Gutierrez”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
