Virginia Gutierrez was of the few polychrome potters from Nambe Pueblo. She was known for her experimentation with various clay slips. This seedpot is flat in shape with a sharp shoulder. It is painted with a sun design for half the piece. Below are two corn stalks. There are six different colors of clay used on the piece. It is signed on the bottom, “V. Gutierrez”. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
