Christine Atencio Kaye was the daughter of Cruz and Refugia Atencio. She was married to Edwin Kaye (Hopi) and the mother of Agnes Crispin, Phillip Atencio, and Lawrence Atencio. She learned to make pottery from her mother and primarily made pieces in the 1960’s-the 70s. This bowl is coil built and stone polished red. It is painted on two sides with a cloud step design. It is signed on the bottom, “CK”. The bowl is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
